Originally posted within another thread by ebo. I wanted to pull it out and create it's own thread, because it really should be it's own topic because of how important it is and I don't want it to get missed. I completely agree with everything ebo says below and couldn't have said it better myself. But know that my own personal gratitude is extended to Sarge, Michelle & Dave as well! I know how hard it is to do this, which is why I've been soliciting help the past few gatherings. I simply couldn't do it anymore, plus having locals put it together makes for a much better expereince, in my opinion. So THANK YOU!!!! Here is what ebo posted:
Daryl, Michelle, and Dave...........

Before this gets away from us I want to thank you for taking on this huge task of our C3VR gathering.
I know from experience how much time and leg work goes into a multiday event. The first pick up the phone and chat is just scratching the surface, it's the multiple face to face meeting's so both parties see it's for real. Thinking of events, the driving routes, the timing of the day.
Then the Hotel being set up, a "Home Base" and youz guyz's did a fantastic job on that as the communication between the hotel owners and your committee has been fantastic. We all worry about our cars and you have addressed that so well!
Then getting Bairs scheduled was another great job, and they in turn have to plan a whole "Mini Event"
The engine tour and getting it set up so the plant is pretty much ours all day....60 people OMG how did you pull that one off! My local club is doing a tour in August and they were told the max was 20 people!
Then the food negotiations .....yum looks fantastic and I'm sure you spent many face to face and phone calls on this. Then making sure you have all the deposits and the money paid out to them is another whole ball of wax! Getting all the checks in and cashed (more time and leg work to the bank) and then back to the restaurants to put down payments. Not to mention if you do not get peoples money on time....."do I pay for them?" are they really coming?
Whew I'm tired just thinking about it all.
I did not even mention all the hair loss during all this craziness!
So I just want to thank you all now before this party gets started as it's not like this bearded fairy in a tutu waves a wand and this stuff just happens.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Now THERE'S a visual I dint need.....

But YES....Thanks to all that do the derty work setting these things up, and those that help with any of the planning involved. There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that must take place that most folks never even think aboot. It takes a lot of dedication to the cause from folks that are willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone else has a good time, and that everything goes as smoothly as possible......and have back-up plans if something don't.
Three Cheers for Darryl, Michelle, Dave, and supporting "staff"!!!!

Thank God you have THAT picture and not the one of...someone else who I will not name. It has been a real pleasure doing this with Darryl and Michele, Michele mostly. Actually, Michele and I have been the ones who do most of the work, Darryl has been the one that is doing all the stuff that will go wrong during the gathering.

I too am in full agreement with Ebo, Adam & everyone else - I have planned some events on a smaller scale & I can't imagine putting something like this together.....although, I know at some point I probably will.

To Daryl, Michele & Dave....You guys are amazing & I can't wait to thank you all in person!!!!
I know the event is going to be a success, because all well planned events are!! You have been working on this for literally over a year & have dedicated a tremendous amount of time and effort ... not for the recognition, but for the simple satisfaction of celebrating friendship and giving us a chance to enjoy new experiences! (and drive our cars to really cool places...lol
)

Here's to the adventure that awaits us & the fun times we will all share!!
BTW - this "THANK YOU" resonates to ALL C3VR members that have organized events large or small, past, present & future

I would also like to give Sarge, Michelle and Dave a huge THANK YOU for all the work you guys put into this gathering. Can't wait for the fun to begin!

Ya'll are quite welcome.
It's been an adventure. I will be relieved once it has come and gone. Does one lose sleep wondering, second guessing each and every aspect of a event? Yup. Trying to cram "Buffalo/Niagara" in 4 days is tough. We are just grazing the surface. I could easily spend a week showing the area.
I think it wouldn't have been as stressful if I didn't work full time... worrying about Michele's hip surgery (which was successful)... searching/buying a car for my 16 yr. old since my ex sprung that on me unexpectedly... remodeling the last 2 rooms in the house...dealing with Dave.
Speaking of Dave...Joel where did you find his high school yearbook photo.

I have to thank Michele for helping. Her organizational skills are a big help. And yeah Dave did help. So remember, when something goes wrong, even if you car breaks down...it's all Dave's fault.

Yup, a big thanks!
I'm typing from the motorcycle rally I organize yearly. 85 attendees as of this morning. Yup, you are sweating the details constantly but you shift into cruise control and everything just falls into place.
Looking forward to leaving Friday in your direction for 11 days of R&R.
