Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Tried this last year, but since many people are either on the road or getting ready to get on the road, I thought I'd give this another shot. As you drive to the Colorado gathering (or to the alternate one, I guess, or to Bloomington Gold), feel free to look for these items. If you like, we can compare notes to see who collects the most, or you can do it just for fun.

Smiley Face Water
Tower Water tower designed to look like something (Ketchup Bottle, etc)
Muffler Man or other giant Roadside Attraction
Operating Lighthouse
Milemarker of 500 or higher
Operating Drive-In Movie Theater
Highest or lowest priced (regular) gas
Operating Oil Rig
Historical Marker
"World's Largest" anything
Pet Cemetery Business or Highway sign with misspelling
Operating Roadside Diner
Painted Barn Advertisement ("See Rock City," etc)
Wall Drug sign
"Welcome To" state sign (who can collect the most)
Town Population sign <500 people
Route 66 Sign
Recognizable National Landmark (St Louis Arch, etc - McDonalds doesn't count)
Toll Booth
City sign name for well known city in another state - ex, Philadelphia, IN
Your odometer turning a multiple of 10K miles

Heck...I ain't even goin, and I can find most of that stuff right here in Texas! LOLLOL With the exception of the Lighthouse, that is. And the Klingons on bikes? Have you SEEN the Hardly riders around here? LOL

Oh...and the center cap...found one yesterday in an antique mall in Lewisville for $12. I was gunna scoop that thing right up until I noticed it had a big gouge right in the center....perhaps this one was yours? Not all that far from Okiehoma.....and it was the ONLY automotive type item in the booth.....hmmmmmmm.....

One of the towns with less than 500 people we found was in TX. And as for the center cap, I did lose one in OK, but I also had spares back home, so a friend has already shipped one and it should be at the hotel waiting for us now

Oh, and as for the Klingons, I will swear to my dying day that I did see this once upon a time, unfortunately long before the days of cell phone cameras...
