Mark,
Thank you for the explanation/apology.
EVERYONE:
This thread is still being used as a debate on whether or not security is needed. Like I said above, it does not need to be debated. Either you want it or you don't.
If you want security, reply that you want security. Then, you can figure it out amongst yourselves how to implement it.
If you do not want security, don't care, and/or don't think it is needed... do not reply. The purpose of this thread was not to debate security needs. It was to get something done about it.
Thank you!

I.m with Larry and I too would be willing to pull a shift watching our rides
As anyone who's been in the Military knows, we will just have to run a duty roster
I think we can do just as good a job as any rent a cop and that way its totally free.

As a member of the military we travel and train all over the US. I have had the opportunity to speak to law enforcement at many locations, we do some training in urban areas and are required by law to coordinate with the local Law Enforcement Agencys. Anyway, the point is that most cities allow their officers to perform as security guards during off duty times. I am sure that if someone approaches the police in Carson City, you will have no trouble getting a few police to stand around the parking lot, in uniform, for a nominal fee. Just remember that sometimes you get what you ask for and off duty or not they are still police officers. That said I wish I could come, I will be in the middel east again, so enjoy the meeting.

I think posting member shift guards is a good idea, and easy to execute as I am sure you will have plenty of volunteers (count me in). The price is also very reasonable!

Count me in, I'll shift if needed..

Guys, I understand the seriousness of this topic, my wife will tell you that I hate to park my vette out of my site. I have to put aside my worry (expense or otherwise) or the fun goes away. My suggestion is if you are this afraid of damage or theft, don't go or either don't take your vette. My two cents, I apologize in advance if this touches your sensitive side. Gene
