Well, here I am, sitting here daydreaming and thinking about everyone heading towards PF today.  Man, I sure wish I was able to go.     I'll bet they are all having a ball driving cross-country in their vettes.  Hope nobody's having any problems.

Oh well, guess I'd better get back to work before the boss comes in.

Well don't feel lonely I am sitting here doing the same thing, last minute health problems with the wife forced me to stay home (not once did she say go on ahead without me!) but on the brighter side the route 66 cruise is coming to town saturday night and the town has rented the rt66 drive in for a car show and they are playing 2 lane black top on the big screen.......... but it still isn't P.F.

This is the second night in a row that I haven't gone cruzin due to bad forecasting of the weather . But then again it's been close to 90 and very humid, with my AC not working and the heat from my BB and headers it gets really hot in the cockpit . BTW does anyone know why the town is called Pigeon Forge ? I hope it ain't because of the amount of Pigeons, that would mean any equal amount of droppings.

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.

Here you go Warbird. It appears that there might be lots of pigeons there. I can't leave until first thing friday morning, so I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

During the late 1700s, settlers from the Carolinas followed old Indian trails through the Smoky Mountains along the Pigeon River to what is today Pigeon Forge. Pioneer Isaac Love established an iron forge here in 1820 and his son, William, built a tub mill ten years later. The Old Mill, now a National Historic Site, remains operational. The iron forge and the flocks of pigeons that fed along the river banks in the early years gave the town its name.

Ditto there, all of you.  I had to stay home this time too.  Next time just might be the charm for me!

I had to cancel at the last minute too. But I'm definitely going to be there for
next year's gathering.

I promised the wife a cruise this year before I had joined the site.  Boy, was that a mistake.  I hate the thought of missing the Tail of the Dragon...  If I can get the '80 reliable by Corvette Weekend in Eureka Springs this year (1st full weekend in October) we get to go there.

On the upside, the wife promised we can go on next year's gathering if it's a driveable distance from OKC.

Safe travels and no breakdowns to all heading out!  Take LOTS of Pics!

Enjoy

Dennis
