There was somthing about Dolly Pardon, but I have CRS and can't remember for sure what thread it was...C3 Events?
Saw a thread that said you will be joining the Texas Folks.....GREAT! BTW, nice ride!

No laughing at The Gold Thing.........please, I have an old 350 with an original suspension & breaks so I know I won't be doing 60 RPM's on that run if it's too twisty.

Sure makes one think about keeping the speed down on that road, my view has now changed about G Force corners in my Corvette with what I see in the pictures at the web site..O'Boy.. spielman538794.4365509259

If the miata and mini clubs can brave it, I think I can too!

Here's the link to the site with updates on the Dragon.  There's an article from Swift about trying to keep their trucks off of that road, and information about the road and events.  The site's mainly set up for bikes, but we can learn from it as well.

Here's a calendar of events for the Dragon in 2006.  It looks as if we'll be there during the MG weekend, so we'll let them go first and clear a path for us!!

Well....Thanks, Jim! Now you've gone and spoiled the party for everyone!
Man....that's just bad. As a former OTR driver, I can't see any reason to subject myself OR my rig to that, not to mention endangering others.

Sorry Joel...it's just that i'm trying to look out for you guys.

I think the guy who planned on taking his bicycle has the right idea. On a motorcycle?....maybe.....in a C3...not me

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

I would still take the drive if I'm able to get there.  Just use caution.  That road is used enough for various events, the publicity involved should make it fairly busy at anytime of the year.  Not a road for performance driving.  But as for a fun cruise, with caution, I think it would be great.

There is a similar but less know road that runs from Athens Oh.  I like the drive, and have done it a few times.  But the same problem occours with some large trucks.  There is one switchback that I still cannot figure out how that truck that just passed the other way every got around that curve.  I had full lock on the steering wheel to make it in an Astro Van.

But chances are I won't make it to PF anyway, so I guess my .02 cents won't make any difference.  Just take it easy and enjoy it.
