Topic: Thanks To All !!!
in Forum: Annual C3VR Member Gathering
Believe it or not but I did make it to PF. We arrived about 3pm on friday and shortly after getting the car unloaded I got a call with an unfortunate message that I needed to get back home ASAP. Since we had just driven 400 miles, there was no way that either of us could have driven back without some rest, so we pulled out early saturday morning.
Although I didn't get to meet many of the members, I did get to see all of the classic glass and it was a beautiful site to behold.
My apologies to everyone for not being in a very social mood after recieving the message from home, plus the fact that I was physically exhausted from the trip.
Congratulations to all the guys that put a lot of time and effort into making the event a success. I'm just sorry I didn't get to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Maybe next time.
Also, thanks to all the guys that are posting the pics. Because of a camera malfunction, I wasn't able to get a single pic.
Sorry to hear that Jim. Hope problems clear out !
I'm i right ? 1720 miles + your trip to PF = 2520 miles...
you should change that in the C3 show !

It was a fun and memorable Gathering. I had a really great time.
Good to see some familiar faces again and nice to meet a whole bunch of new ones. A great bunch of folks all around.
A special Thank You to all the planners and helpers.
Looking forward to next year...

Barry,
I don't think I even put 1/10th of a mile on my odometer. I just backed it off the trailer and drove it back on the next morning.
My buddy's excuse for driving so fast was that he was trying to pull away from the corvette that was on our tail.
As I stated in another thread, he towed my car on a 20 foot trailer 400 miles in 6 1/2 hours with 4 stops and it was raining half the time. When I reminded him of the speed he was running, he would say it's like the guy who fell off the empire state buliding. As he was falling by the 20th floor, he was heard saying "So far. so good" I heard that many times on this trip.
Adam & Mike, you guys sure know how to throw one heck of a party...eh! My wife and I really enjoyed meeting everyone and checking out the great bodies (don't get excited, I'm talking about the cars).
Mike....my wife wants to thank you for the honor of taking your pictures during the Dragon Run......flip..flop..flip...flop....sure hope some of them turned out....what a great drive.
