At the meet and greet Larry (Radarb8) had made Eric (7643) the guardian of our new mascot, a little stuffed chicken named "Captain C3" for the weekend.
Friday's drive was a nice run up to Crater lake, around the lake and back. That day Eric (7643) had strapped "Captain C3" up on his visor for the day. You could easily see "Captain C3" up above the roof with the t-tops off. After the drive around the lake we were on our way back and had just got on Hwy 97 headed back to Bend. I knew I needed gas at the lunch stop so I kind of jumped out of line and headed off at a little higher speed then we had been traveling. OK so it wasn't kind of, I did.
(I can't drive 55!!!). So Carol and I know where the lunch is and I figure we will just get gas and wait for the rest of the crew.
Eric and Bruce (PA78CE) decide all the fun can't be had by only one so they jump out and take off also, maybe 5 minutes behind me. As they hit about 70mph Bruce sees Eric reach up and take "Captain C3" down as they reach (from what I hear) much higher speeds.
Bruce says to me later "I knew it was getting serious when the chicken came down" .

That was the funniest thing I heard all weekend!!!!

"Captain C3" is still recovering from a little tendon stretch, but he is coming along nicely...

Was wondering if they checked the chickens green card when you entered back into Canada or is he living there illegally?

Force-feeding bugs to chickens like that is illegal here in Texas....

That line was pretty funny....I'm sure it was funnier in person!
