If I decide to go Im driving mine. I'm a bit nervous, but hopefully they'll be some folks around with a bit of vette knowledge and know how
!!!

Plus with an event like this, half the fun is getting there.....

I drive mine almost every day. You can expect nicks here and there and the first real mishap happened the other day. I was taking a trip from Tucson to Casa Grande and had stopped for fuel. (Do that a lot) My back was turned and I was watching the pump $$s go by. Then there was a bump. I turned to look and a woman (passer by) had been directing a contractor truck and waved him right into the front of my baby. His bumper ran up the front rubber bumper across the 1 inch fiberglass and on to the metal lamp top. There is a scratch now down to metal. Not bad but, it is there. I just looked at the old lady and shook my head. No cussing or over the top reaction. It was not the guy's fault. I also have a few small chips in my wind shield and rock divots in front of the rear wheels.
It is still nice to turn a head or two but, most of all it is fun to drive!

Nobody ever waves when I'm driving the Explorer.

Who's fault WAS it? Who was driving the truck? If they needed someone to guide them in to get fuel, they shouldn't have been driving to start with....or they should have waited.
I'd be kicking someone's butt.....

I was getting gas the other day on the bike, and some moron pulled in behind me in a car, and almost hit the bike. They looked at me, and I said "H ell, don't stop now...Come on up...you still got another inch before you get yer a$$ whooped"....then they backed up. A-holes....
Sorry....I get wound up over crap like this....people just don't give a crap about other people's stuff anymore....which is why I never drive either of the Corvettes anywhere....

I'm convinced!!! As long as a problem doesn't develop in the next month. I know that the drive train, brakes, steering and suspension are solid. The only thing that I havn't look at is the wheel bearings. Are we there yet?

Dave

Anybody does ANYTHING to mine after spending all these $$$$$$$$$ and all hell will break loose!!!

I do almost all my own work on my 2 vett's. The 72 is on the ramps with the frontend all tore apart.
I trailer mine because I don't like to put the miles on them and I still get better mileage with the GMC pulling the trailer than the driving the vett itself.
Just curious
what kind of mileage do you get trailering.....anyone.....

I get about 16 mpg on the highway with my F-250 diesel (not towing). I got about 14 mpg towing the vette to Carlisle last year. Only expecting 10 -12 mpg in the vette.DStoffel 2011-04-20 16:06:18
