Had a GREAT time in Saskatoon.  A HUGE THANK YOU to Cindy and Sara for all the time and effort put into the entire Gathering.  From the hotel, to the agenda of things to do and see, to the "herding of cats" to get us places on time - everything was top notch...!!!

Pete and I left around 8:30 Saskatoon time (9:30 Wisconsin time) and longhauled back to his place in western Wisconsin arriving safely at 1:30 Monday morning.  Collected a whole bunch of butterflies on the front bumper and windshield going through Saskatchewan...!!!  We stopped in Minot, ND for lunch and petrol around 3:30pm, swapped seats and stopped for dinner and petrol in Alexandria, MN around 10:00pm, swapped seats again for the push to Colfax.  Averaged just under 30 mpg running 5 over the posted speed limits with the A/C on all the way.  I was VERY impressed with the available range on his 2000 C5 (nearly a 1,000 miles on less than 2 1/2 tanks of fuel).  I can only imagine that the C6s and C7s longhaul capabilities are just as good, or better.

I'm hanging out in the Twin Cities area for a few days catching up with friends before flying back to Colorado on Friday.  Keeping my fingers crossed that the "Weather Gods" will be smiling and not make that leg of the journey as much "fun" as the first leg of the journey was...!!!

I know several folks were continuing their traveling after leaving Saskatoon so hope you enjoy your routes and arrive home safely,

Dorothy & I had a great time as well.  Dorothy is not a Corvette fanatic, but she did enjoy the gathering.

We made it the 2200 miles home in three days.  We had planned on four days, but seems like when you get pointed in the home direction there is a strong pull to get there!

Thanks again to Cindy who made a fantastic effort to make the gathering a great success.

Home safe again..... all thought I did get a second “raised eye brow” at customs when declaring why I was visiting and again being told I was not driving a Corvette.  🙄

The big take-away is “The Gathering” takes us to interesting venues with interesting people.  It’s the participants that make the event complete!  Those on the sidelines looking in.... give one a try!  Work in a visit with friends and relatives along the way. 😃

Thanks again Cindy & Sara for their work and to the local Vette people, Jerry, Catherine and others who joined in and helped us learn new ways to use the word..... eh or ay.
