I'll put this out on the table. if we do end up in the reno area I am willing to provide some freah pacific coast salmon and the possibility of a big ole slab of meat, maybe a brisket for the texans, or a nice new york strip or a prime rib roast, only thing i will need is a head count once thing get close, so some one file this post to remind me of my drug induced offer.

The SLC area is usually in the 80's in June and it's a "DRY HEAT". June is also the driest month of the year in Utah. Precip averages .25 for the month.
You beat me to it ratray. There really is a big difference between "dry heat" and humid heat.
Been a long time since I've been to SLC. It used to be a clean, laid back town. Is it still pretty much that way?
I used to live in Lake Tahoe. Very beautiful, but way too many people now.
Denver area isn't a choice, but if you all like driving mountains and think 8,000 feet is high, might consider the mountain passes here for a future gathering. 8,000 feet is nothing. LOL
I'm not going to vote because never sure what events we are able to attend, being self employed with no employees to handle the shop while we are away. It depends on our work load. If I was to vote, it would be for Utah.

My two cents is to stay away from the crowded cities....we enjoy places where we can sit back and DE-STRESS from our jobs....(aka..cruise some senic routes, take in a few local tourist traps )
Bob, when does peak season kick-in in the LT/Reno area? be great if we timed our get together a few weeks prior to avoid the higher costs and crowds....
I agree Kerry! I don't want to make anyone mad, but how are we going to get to know each other if we do too many events?? All the places listed are hot, too crowded and too much traffic.
What about smack dab in the middle of the USA, like Colorado, (already suggested-nice driving view) Kansas or Nebraska?? There's got to be something to do fun in a little town there.

Keep in mind folks that just because the 2006 gathering was held in June doesn't mean the 2007 gathering will be held in the same month (both the 2004 & 2005 gatherings were held in October). If you scan back through anything related to the 2007 C3VR gathering I don't think you'll find any mention of a date - yet. So far it has just been about the location - of which there are three to choose from.
The process for determining the where and when of the 2007 C3VR member gathering will be held is way different than last year.

I did mention May/June as a possible time frame, but by no means is that rock solid. A large part of deciding the "when" depends on first figuring out the "where". I think it is actually far more complicated to pick "when" because of so many factors...school, temperature, other shows, etc. So let's not fret about the "when" until we first pick the "where." k?
Thanks!

It slipped my mind about this. Virginia City is about 20 miles from Reno, and about 50 from Lake Tahoe. It's pretty laid back in the eve and quite a lot of tourist during the day. Fall and Spring are the best times to go, and they just got done building a new big hotel up there and I belive Ramada Inns are the company that operated it. We moved from VC to Carson, and while my wife works for the courts system up there, I don't go back up too often. There's mine tours, old saloons, and several other attractions also and of course the ever present tourist shops with tee shirts and frige magnets. lol.

I haven't officially voted yet. I would like to stay away from the bright lites, big city thing, being so shy and all...
I'll wait a wee bit longer to cast my vote, so I can see if ya'll all want to go to the same place I do.

Personally I have never been to the Grand U.S of A. So any of these fine locales would be fun for me and the misses as I am just a little flatland farm boy that has never been away from the pasture.
I did vote for Reno/Tahoe but the idea of being in a small community somewhere in between where we can take in both fine cities would be grand.
