[QUOTE=spielman5]Jim, I don't remember seeing a Double Decker Outhouse in the Arctic Circle?..Terry

Terry, Maybe we can make one.
Adam, We do think 21 is good for the start. Now we'll see how the rest of the votes go on the other parts. Dude, we are getting excited again... Are we there yet???

Easy guys - there already is a double decker in the Artic. I just don't want to be the guy in the bottom. The point was that it's still about the members. I really don't think it's fair for the middies and easties to control the votes. Personnally, I don't favor any of those places. Been to Reno -DUH-, bad memories of San Deigo and I'm not a Morman so SLC is out. But those were the three choices we were given and I voted based on that alone. Sure there are places I'd rather go and if one of them was a choice I'd have voted accordingly. I'm just suggesting that we make lemonade of the lemons we were given and have fun with it. Please remember that this is about the people and the places we meet is secondary. Personally I would like Hell, Mi. in Jan 07. Terry, Mike Thanks for riding my wave with me.
Jim
My vote went to Reno/Tahoe
Used to live in the SLC area.
Been to Reno/Tahoe.
San Diago, furthest distance but I think theres more to do in the Reno/Tahoe area, and not just gamblin. Think about the cruises around beautiful Lake Tahoe
If Reno/Tahoe does win I say we go with Tahoe. Its very very hot in Reno at that time of year and with Tahoe being in the mountains would prolly make it more comfortable.

Well, as many of you know, I'm from Calif. origanlly. I lived 5 miles from beautiful Lake Shasta for 13yrs. as a kid, loved every minute of it. Like Bob (Bobs68) said, the Northern Calif. area is loaded with things to do and fantastic Corvette roads. I know because I learned to drive on those crooked mountain roads, thats why I loved our trip on the Tail of the Dragon so much. So, I'm biased in favor of beautiful mountain areas out west, I'm one of the 21 (so far) that voted for Reno. Southern Calif, from Sacramento south, should be another State (or given back to Mexico)!!! SLC, been there/ done that, got the T-shirt, it don't fit. Depending on the time of year, it might be better, I was there in July, No fun.
So, now it's LT/Reno area, I'm all for that. I'd go there any time of the year. If you haven't already checked out the link in this thread about Lake Tahoe, do it now, I think you'll agree any time would be AOK. The North Shore area and all the roads around the Lake are awesome.
Oh, one more little perk we would have in that area, my brother lives in Truckee, Calif. That just over a hill or two from LT and 30 minutes from Reno, he owns his own home inspection business and knows all of that area like the back of his hand. So, finding our accommodations and things to do is in the bag.
Like I said, I'm biased, but I just wanted to put in my two cents worth in, I'll be there no matter where we go.
P.S. For the last week of July and the first week of August EVERY year the Reno/Sparks area holds "HOT AUGUST NIGHTS". Thats a 5000+ Car Show/Cruz-in that lasts for 10 to 14 days and nights, around the clock things to do. Lots of Vettes there too. Just a thought, Google it if you've never checked it out, non-stop fun!!!
Well, thats three cents worth, I'd better hush. Later Ya'll, Chuck
I would suspect Tahoe should be real nice temperature-wise in the sumer since it is at 6200 feet altitude. You lose about 3 degrees (deg. F, I think) for each 1000 feet of altitude so the mountains should offer 15-20 deg. of air conditioning. It would be cool if we co-ordinated it with "Hot August Nights" in Reno, an hour and a half drive away.

Our vote goes to Tahoe, even if it is too far to drive a C-3 'Vette with the gymkahna suspension, we'll drive the CTS-V and pinstripe a C3 outline on the side...
