I'm still trying to make it to a gathering, I hope this is going to be one for me. I agree that the scenery and driving possibilities would be much nicer in Hot Springs so that gets my vote.

Call the neighbors, wake the kids! Looks like we're heading to Hot Springs!
(Unless a bunch of people turn in late votes for Dallas or KC).

Wow. You're very optimistic! Already saying it looks like the best one yet and we have ZERO planned for it so far. Keep up the positive attitude! It may help me stay motivated!

Well, being that it is looking like Hot Springs, I would like it to be during one of the first two weekends of May 2008. If anyone has any information regarding which of the two weekends is better, please let me know. This is not your "PERSONAL" better... I'm looking for LOGISTICAL reasons why one weekend is better than the other. Things going on there, etc, etc.
Thanks!

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
Ok i think I will throw a wrench into the equation and I voted for kansas city. for oen reason. never been there and heard tons of stories from family members that have gone. I would also enjoy the ride.
Either place you go it is gonna be hot. it is the summer we are going. gonna have to deal with that and i hope all of your ac units work.
AR would be my second choice.
TX would be too far for me and i wouldnt be able to go. plus i have been to dallas and houston and not much different then Philly or NYC, just a diff temp and accents, still massive cities which i could see anywhere around the country.

Adam,
Below are the scheduled events in Hot Springs for both weekends.
The first weekend in May (Saturday evening the 3rd) has a Wine, Food and Art extravanagnza on "Bath House Row" downtown Hot Springs scheduled. A good event if you want to spend $100 in advance or $125 at the door to attend, but you do get a commemorative wine glass though!
The second weekend in May (Saturday the 10th) has an open class car show at the Hot Springs Airport put on by the Hot Springs Cruisers with about 125 to 150 cars in attendance, if anyone wants to attend a good car show. I have been the last 4 years and it is always fun. There are 2 Corvette Classes. www.hscruisers.com
Neither event should cause a problem with traffic or hotels as we have thousands of hotels rooms and many local and chain restuarants. The weather should be good tempature wise with no guarantee on whether it will rain or not! Early May weather should be comfortable either weekend, but we do have higher humidities here! It is not normally hot in May, highs in the mid 80s at the most but sometimes cooler with good convertable weather in either case.
You can check for all events in Arkansas at: www.arkansas.com/calendar
For those who like it, we have live horse racing at Oaklawn Park, but it will be over in April and there will be Simucast racing and games of skill (basically slot machines of a sort) as well as Garvin Woodlawn Gardens should be in full bloom, a world class botanical garden.
One note: Mothers days is the second Sunday in May for those with Mothers!
Other than Mother's Day I cannot see a problem with either weekend in Hot Springs unless Ben sees any other problems with Hot Springs those
weekends!
Please let me know if I can help or answer any other questions regarding my hometown!
Thanks,
John

The second weekend sounds better to me. Wine, Food & Art is not my cup of tea (so to speak), much prefer a car show. Thanks for all the research, John, good job.
