JD,
Nice work!
Could you follow up to ask about group rates? Also, make sure to ask if any free rooms are giving for X number of rooms booked.
You can take this to email, probably don't need to bore everyone with the details until they are sorted out.
Thanks!

JD or Ben, do you know any of the organizers of the HS event? It would be nice to have a mention or parking for our group since we are bringing in a national event to coincide with theirs'.

Getting mentioned is not a problem at the show, but parking at the show is first come first served. I believe that there is an award for the most club cars registered as well as long distance award, but don't hold me to that.

John you should check with some of the hotels... I'm not sure the race meet people will have fully vacated by then.

Ben & Adam,
I have checked with three different hotels concerning the dates of the C3VR Gathering during the CACC HS Corevette Weekend.
So far there seem to be no problems with 30 to 50 rooms being blocked out for our event 4/16/08 thru 4/20/08 during the HS Corvette weekend and no conflict with the live horse racing crowd.
The three I contacted are:
The Arlington Hotel, (on Central Ave., downtown & CACC host hotel) One note: it has fenced parking with security patrols. 501-623-7771 My contact says it is older and a bit more ran down , has valet parking but is going to cost a bit more for a room, about 75 bucks more for a suite
The Clarion Hotel, (on Central Ave., directly on the lake) Possibility of segrated parking. 501-525-1391. Has been updated. All rooms have some view of the lake , regular rooms, with limited suites.
The Lake Hamilton Resort, (On Albert Pike Rd. directly on the lake) Possibility of segrated parking. 501-767-8606. All rooms are suites with a balcony overlooking the lake, I like this place ! Sounds affordable too, around 100 bucks a night for a suite which is in line with the Clarions regular room rates.
This is just asking for one person, not a group rate which Adam will have to negotiate. Be sure to ask whoever you go with to comp you a suite Adam !
So far my vote is for the Lake Hamilton Resort . just my .02, which I seem to have a lot of sometimes

No matter which hotel you choose it is easy to get around town and get to all of the events and restuarants from any of the three.
The are numerous other hotels that may or may not work out better. I will be happy to research it more if Adam needs me to do so!
Adam, my only recomendation is; the sooner you block out the rooms the more likely that there will be no problems getting the number you want at the location you want since we are a tourist town and Vette weekend would be occuring at the same time.

The key to that is everyone meet somewhere and all drive in together. Then if someone wants to leave , it make a hole for a potential someone else at the right spot.

You Arkansas boys have been holding out on us.
edit..
Suzy just got home and I was showing her the website for the event and the hotels. She says we are going !

7 1/2 hours from here, it will be the 71's first trailer queen trip.
We also need to know if we have room to park tow rigs and trailers and where and so forth.
Sorry to hijack your thread Adam!

We are just a little bit excited, I think Suzy is filling out an entry form for the event.

This and Funfest will probably be our big events this coming year.
