In researching a motel/hotel/resort for us to stay at as a group, I'd like to know what the majority of folks are willing to spend. It seems that at the last gaterhing there were a bunch of folks that thought the rate at the group hotel was too high, so they stayed elsewhere. I want to see if I can get more of the group to stay at the same place this year.
We're looking at facilities in North Short Lake Tahoe (Incline Village), Carson City, NV & Reno, NV. So far it seems Incline Village has the highest rates, as they are all mountain resorts. Carson City & Reno will have more places to choose from, and lower rates.
So, to help pick a place for the group, please response to the follow survey.

What is the maximum rate you'll pay per night for a hotel room?
(I say "average" because we may pay one rate on Wednesday & Thursday nights, but a different rate on Friday & Saturday nights.)

No more than $50 (average) per night
No more than $75 (average) per night
No more than $100 (average) per night
No more than $125 (average) per night
No more than $150 (average) per night
No more than $175 (average) per night
No more than $200 (average) per night
No more than $250 (average) per night
Cost does not matter to me
Please vote ASAP so we can get a good feel for what rate to shop for.
Thanks!

I was one of the "renegades" that did not stay at the group hotel in PF and opted for an alternate hotel. For me it was a purely economical decision. While my travel budget wasn't without a ceiling I wanted to save some money where I could (the $30/night that I saved on the lodging bill helped to offset the cost of fuel).
I'll be doing the same thing in planning my trek to Nevada. Looking for quality, yet economical, lodging along the way to and fro. Just trying to manage the bottom line as best I can and still have a ton of fun with everyone.
I also stayed away from the group and stayed at the cabin. We might stay with the group depending if we find a suitable place then the group location. Trying to find a place with a garage.
Mabye ask if someone would like to stay with us. Not sure so we'll see.

I, too, want to "manage the bottom line" as Norsky said. Having been to that area a few years ago, I'm tentatively planning on staying in Carson City - a bit less expensive and a bit less crowded (fewer tourists), yet still convenient to both tahoe and Reno.
I also stayed a cabin in PF. That was for romantic reasons. The price was a little higher per nite but well worth it in terms of privacy and fun. I like hotels but something a step up from Holiday Inn would be great.

We were going to stay at the group hotel in PF at a slightly higher rate than most of the rooms. On a trip to Reno we're looking to put out a lot more money with most of it going towards airfare. $100+ per night for a room would probably negatively effect how many days we come out for or if we attend at all.
I always go the cheap...er..most economical route, so I can spend my money foolishly on my Vette.
Anything over $30 per night is beyound my budget. If I could figure out a way to sleep in the Vette, I would. Of course, my wife won't be with me. If she were, we'd be looking for 4-star accomodations.
See if the place you pick allows tent camping in the rear. I'll shower at the carwash.
