Adam,
Are there any special activities that you could offer for the ladies?

Races at the cart track.

Dinner at one of the local restaurants would be good.

Have you ever done a poker run or dice run?

Some kind of tech clinic for C3s. Engine mods, suspension, tranny, axle, etc.

Smoke the tires competition? Just kidding

According to these directions MMD would be about a 2 1/2 hour drive from BG (or about 5 hours round trip).  Add in time for the tour/eating/gas stops/etc and you have a full day.  (For those interested here's MM's main website: http://www.makersmark.com/Home.aspx )

Vette(s): 1969 Vert Monza Red, Red Int, White Top 350 with a M21

We have a great tour to Heaven Hill. This tour is MUCH better than the other bourbon places around.

I sure don't know the logistics involved here, but you might get a lot more people to attend if it was held during the traditional "vacation" summer months. The kids are out of school and most companies schedule vacation time during the months of mid June through early Sept. Just a thought...

Just kidding here, but how many kids can you fit in an'82. I would imagine it might get a little hot under the bubble in the back.

Yep, they might get a bit hot back there. No really, drive the Vette from California?!? My back would never take it! Tow it behind the truck...good idea. Our vette hobby is a family hobby and I would bet it is for many of us. Just thought I'd bring this point up, as most of us with kids just can't get away during the time the event is scheduled. This is mostly due to distances involved, the kids being in school, and wanting the car with us. Oh well. Thanks for the input. 82crossfire38431.6610185185

As I understand it the NCM put the 2004 C3X on their calendar of events based on the available weekends in that event season.  Being a new event in 2004 October was all that was left.  2005 was scheduled as a repeat for calendar convenience sake.  I would guess that as interest and numbers grow in C3X we would be in a little better position to lobby for a more 'prime' weekend between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

As a note of comfort I can tell you from experience that BG in October is a lot more comfortable than in late June/early July.  Nearly toasted my brains out at the 50th in 2003...!!!

You're sure right about the weather. We lived in that part of the country for 4 years when still on active duty and Oct is much better as far as the heat goes. Sure wish it was held during a time of the year we could make it, but I'm sure it will be a good time held by all! We figured it was a scheduling issue with the NCM. Thanks again

Vette(s): 1972 Coupe Anything, but Stock and more mods to come! SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.

Well its not a high end major distrillery, but there is a nice winery just down the road from bowling green that may do tours.  My Wife and I go there quite often.  The owner is quite a car buff and has a couple corvettes on display inside the winery along with a couple antique type cars.  He also use to have a 57 on display as well.

Here is a link to their website.

It also won't kill the whole day.
