Just kinda wondering if the c3 extravaganza is a yearly thing? This web site is the first that I have heard of it, I've only had the vette a little over a year now, Is it around the same time of year? Any info would be nice, maybe could plan something for next or so. Long trip from washington state.

It is an event that the NCM just started this year. They plan for it to be an annual event and it is on the schedule for October 2005. It happens to be the location for the annual C3VR Membership meeting this year. Next year, the C3VR Membership meeting will be in a as-yet-to-be-determined location.

OK - I have to vent a bit here... First, let me qualify my thoughts by saying that we had a great time at NCM for the C3 event. 12 hours of rain on the way down and 13 hours of sun(and night time..) on the way home. Great ride... Plus, we got to meet some great people as well.
However, Linda and I were a bit taken aback by the discussions to move the official C3VR meeting to another location next year. Not because you want to move it. Heck, you can do whatever you want with it. But to bring it up while sitting in NCM's meeting room with a representative of NCM in attendance just didn't sit well with us. You said that you need help running events. NCM ran this event; planned the BBQ, banquet, road trips, car show, had event shirts printed up, etc. and handled all the money. How much more help would you need? Where else could you go and get that amount of support AND have just one cantact person???
Anyway, we just think that a discussion like that would have been better if done in private. The way we did it was pretty much like a slap in the face to NCM in our eyes...
OK - vent over...

I believe you are lacking some details which caused you to feel this way. Here are the details...
First, the NCM is/was FULLY aware that the C3VR member meeting is not always in the same location each year. They knew that we may not be in attendance next year. So there was no "slap in the face" by discussing it on NCM property.
Second, when you said "NCM ran this event; planned the BBQ, banquet, road trips, car show, had event shirts printed up, etc. and handled all the money."... you were absolutely right! That is because the C3 Extravaganza was/is an NCM Event. It just happened to be the location of this year's C3VR Member Meeting. It certainly was convenient that there were already events planned that we could all attend. But there was still plenty of things that I needed to do to make sure the C3VR Membership had a good time... keeping them informed of changes to the event details, organizing the dinners on Wednesday and Thursday, blocking some hotel rooms, etc. The NCM also asked for my input as to what types of things should be offered at the event. You saying that the NCM did all the work is like saying that the Hershey people did all the work on the parade, or that if we were to go to Las Vegas next year that the casinos will handle all the entertainment. Just organizing the group to attend ANY location for a meeting/gathering is a lot of work.
The help I am requesting is for C3VR attended/created events that I can not attend.
Hopefully this clears things up for you.

I certainly know that there was a lot of work done by you for this event. I apologize if I made it sound like all you had to do was show up. But, they seemed to do all the things that you were asking for help on...
