Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible

Favorite Planned Activity:  Lunch at the Yagers'.  Wow.  Their grounds and pool house were incredible!  For those of you who didn't see it and don't believe what you heard, here is a Google Earth shot that shows the pool (sorry, a bit fuzzy, but you'll get the idea)

Candi's favorite planned event was the Saturday night Dinner and celebration with the band.  She was impressed with their weather planning, etc (we think the band was impressed with us, too!)

Favorite Unplanned Activity: the impromptu photo shoot of my car.  I had actually met Ed four years ago and he told me then that he wanted to shoot my car.  This time he mentioned that he was just going through his files looking for my contact info the other day.  Who knows, maybe we'll see it on a cover soon (wishful thinking!)

Favorite MOMENT:
Driving through Teutopolis, IL on the way to the Moonshine Cruise.  The group of school kids going crazy at the fence line as we drove past, honked and waved.  Really made me feel great..

Again, the entire event was simply amazing.  Can't wait for the next one

Are we there yet?

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

It's really great to hear that Mike is a supporter of the vets. Anyone by any chance record that?

Forgot about that one too! That was cool, although I could only enjoy watching them watch you guys since I was in my rental Mali, bringing up the rear.  It was, however, almost like something you'd see in a movie.  Very cool indeed!

I honked at those kids, and you'da thunk it was the President coming thru or something, they way they hollered and waved!!! THAT was what made it worth pokin along thru the towns along the way!!
There was a City service truck that weaseled it's way in front of us at one point....the guys in the truck were waving at everybody like they were part of our parade.......a-holes!

I would have to say having a formal dinner, in shorts and tee-shirt, in a Vette warehouse next to a carpet molding production line would be hard to beat. The tables set down the aisles  between the carpet rolls was awesome. Dancin like a dang fool with me bud's was a blast too. Patty did back flips over the lunch at Mike and Laurie's house.

But the best part of the whole gig was bein with my C3VR family for 3 days. Don't much matter what we do long as we're together.  Hug

Lookin forward to the next. "T & P"

It's hard to pick a favorite moment, although if forced it would be a tie between the Moonshine cruise and meeting all the Fine folks I've only chatted with on line. My biggest disappointment was not really getting to really interact with everyone, so many people I didn't get to talk to! The caravans out and back were awesome! Couldn't dream of better people to travel with! But I can't think of anything on the whole trip I'd want to change (except riding in the rain!). This was my first gathering but it WILL NOT be my last!

Vette(s): 1979 L-82, 3 spd auto, car was originally Lt. Beige currently painted Sportsman Red, Doeskin leather interior, 103,000 miles......

My favorite moment was when we were on the Moonshine cruise and we came out on to the main road from MAM and the police had the traffic stopped and I glanced back at all the corvettes (biggest caravan I was ever in) and got goose bumps big time......

Have to agree with many that the moonshine cruise was the big highlight, being in the middle and looking forward and backward and seeing nothing but Corvettes, and in particular the kids in the school yard waving and yelling.  Big smile
