Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible

Well, the elections are over. Not all of my candidates won, but I'm going to wish all the winners the best - and therefore the best for the country.

Four years ago this morning on this site, I went on a rant, replying to a post where some were continuing to bad mouth those who had won that election.  That year, there was quite a bit of election commentary on the site, most of it very negative.  I had held my tounge, but was really upset that once the election was over, people were slamming the man who would guide the country for the next four (now eight) years.  I found it (more than) disappointing that it felt like there was hate for the leader of our country.  I'll admit, I think I crossed the line that day and I do regret it.  There's at least one member that I railed against that I've never seen on the site since.  That was not my intent.

This year (as well as four years ago), I didn't think any of the candidates would have bankrupted the nation and I've never counted on any candidate to guarantee my job or my livelihood.  I'm pretty sure we would all still be here in four years no matter who was "in charge."  My votes were cast more in favor of those who support ALL Americans and won't work to limit freedoms of certain groups over their's.  It seems to me that people forget that the country was founded on religious freedom and that means everyone is free to their OWN religion (or none at all), and not that everyone must follow the ideals of the religion of the majority.

Maybe this isn't the best forum (figurative forum, not which forum on C3VR) to post all of this.  If I hadn't gone on my rant last time, I probably wouldn't have posted anything today.   I was very happy this year not to see any political posts on the site (and here I go screwing that up!).

Bottom line, I hope now everyone can come together (at least for a while) and work together to move all of us (all the people, all the states and the entire nation) forward.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

I feel this is not the place to talk politics or religion.  We are all here because we love Corvettes and that's what we should be talking about.
