Hello All and wishing every one a Happy New Year.

Replacing the L/S #1 mount on my 72 and noticed in the build sheet that there are two different part numbers for the spacers one being L/S(3973897) and other being R/S (3973886). One is different from the other in having a raised washer face the other does not. Does anyone know which is which for the part number?

It appears that my pervious owner(s) have had the body mounts out and i don't know if they installed them correctly i.e. is the L/S on the L/S?

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,  According to my 72' A.I.M, manual, they are the same SPACER. L/S is 897. R/S is 886. Not sure why the difference. Rear #4 is the same spec. The shims for both spots are cupped. I'm guessing the rounded edge for spacer is to accept the cupped design of the shim. That's what it appears to be in pictures.

Thanks for the info, I do know the cupped edges on the shims are to hold them in place around the spacer when mounting the body to frame, there is no difference in either the L/S or R/S # 1 mount on the body or frame, just don't understand why the two different part numbers for the spacers?

When I look online at the various replacement body mounts there are 6 spacers without the raised face and two with?

Thanks again

Alex
