Hi All,
Looking for some guidance on the installation.  It is unclear to me whether Butyl Tape is used or window Weld.  Old glass is out, but appears the the rubber around it stays.  Help!  Lucky for me I did not break one clip getting the molding off.  Picked up the glass w/defroster for $150.00 on craigslist, much less painful than the $875.00 from Paragon.
Any help / direction would be appreciated.

I would take it to a glass dealer if at all possible. Mine leaked so they cut it out and reset it. I did get new clips. Let them put the inside trim back also. I had trouble getting my trim back because there was a little too much dried sealant in places.

Most of the front/rear glass is installed using a "rope" type seal between the glass and body, and then a bead of urethane sealant(not silicon) after that. Not really sure if the large rear glass on the '78-'82 Corvettes is like that or not....I've never had the pleasure of replacing on of those.
