Hi Listers,

Is the front nose reinforcement for a 68 made of fiberglass or metal? , I have the nose that came with my car (Ecklers? ) and it has the metal headlight bar, but the nose reinforcement is made of fiberglass.

Also, is there any good books or articles about replacing a 1 piece nose on a 68 ? thanks

I have a 72 coupe and it is also metal but have an addy for you to check instead of a book, goto http://www.corvettecentral.com and see what they have as I use them instead of ecklers, cheaper and price matching and great customer service that maybe can answer your ?'s, just don't mention about where you got your nose,,lol~Chuck |saluteflag|

I believe it is metal.

Check the AIM as it shows the bonding and reinforcement details with rivet locations and bonding material locations. |smile|

I thinking you want to know how did it come from the factory.

The ones I have seen have been metal. When you install your one pc front end be sure to have the hood on first. Then line the front end up to the rest of the car. If you don't put the hood on, you may end up with a hood that sits higher the the rest of the front end. If you find the hood is low youcan always add shims under the hinges. remember you can raise your hood but you can't lower it very much. Good luck |cheers|

Ecklers has a good book on fiberglass work. It has a chapter on replacing a nose.
