Hi All,
Still lovin this site, all thou my baby is going down for the winter!! :(
I have a question, my baby is a driver, never will be a show car, except in my mind!!
I recently bought (with the help of this site) a rechromed benzel for my license plate, installed it yesterday and it looks awesome! Question is: the original I took off is trashed, needs re-chroming, BUT has a number on it (3919715) that is original. Should I get it rechromed and re-install it and sell the one I bought or just sell the original with the number?
As always, thanks all of you for your help

probably depends on what else has been replaced, if nothing you only have original once. If other things have been replaced whats the biggie about the plate benzel. Anything original that has numbers on if anything, looks good hanging on the garage wall with the other pieces you have replaced.

Unless you want to completely restore the car I'd just keep and tag it and store it someplace out of the way...
I will warn you however that I, after a number of years and owning more then one Corvette you run out of storage room...
Seriously ask yourself if you were to buy this car just how much extra would the original part be worth...TO YOU ...

I'd do exactly as stated above, if the cars not all original I'd start a box now for this and other parts and tuck it away. If it is all original well then, how important is it to you to have it refinished, you can always resell the new one on eBay

Bob...been there done that...had two 24x24 foot detached garages and had to add a 16x24 addition to one of them to store my cars and related junk... now have 5 bays total BUT have a 4 post lift in each garages plus a low level lift on one of the garages just for doing brake and wheel work etc...
I can now store 76 cars in the garages...but to be honest when I sold my Chevelle a few years ago just having 5 cars in the garages gives me some extra shoulder room ... and yes I mad two trips to the landfill last spring hauling out "junk"...
