Ok this might sound strange but hear me out. And maybe its justfor conversation, but I have always thought about it... Ok, so I take all of my bumper parts off of my perfectly good 73 ...all of the brackets, nose, cover, grilles. Now only the "opening" is left.  Lets's say I have bought all of the same for a 72: Bumper, brackets, grille etc. Can I just put them on? What other obstacles ie (fitting notching etc) will I face I know the 'glass is notched on the 72 at the front of the fender...but it doesn't look too severe, almost as if the bumper could still fit on there...thoughts??? I know its nuts...

If you do say so yourself!

I agree to a point... I like the 73... but love the bumpers and it would fairly easy to go back if/when needed

I am pretty sure you would have to replace the whole front frame extension also.

Oh yeah...I would need all of the extensions, brackets etc If you check Corvette Central for example it's in excess of 800 for the brackets etc everything BUT the bumpers, bumperettes and grilles if i am lucky the whole thing is about 2K...

Thanks

BTW I am pretty close to you at approximately 143rd And Bell Road

No major problem sticking a 72 front clip on the 73... the stock 73 hood I believe fits...so no need for the wiper door "crap"...

I own a 72.... BUT like the 73 very much because its one of a kind...
heck even my wife knows a 73 when she sees one...and even I have to
walk to the front and LOOK to tell the  70 71 and 72 apart...

then you'd be ok swapping title for title? Now you don't like it THAT much!

it'd be just swapping out the bumper parts not the whole "clip"

I looked at a 69 down the street from me. It is in pieces right now but it looks a lot different then our 73's. The front clip is quite a bit different. The fenders have fiberglass forms to attach the sides of the bumpers to. I don't no if it's just a matter of buying the hardware but from looking at earlier years it sure looks like more then that.

Sorry, it won't work.
The frames are different, as is the fiberglass in the front. There's no way to do this without puting the nose of a '72 on, and doing an ton of fabrication to the frame in front(unless you're not concerned with how it looks). The front of the frame also houses the vaccuum reservoir for the headlights. It is a structrual element of the front of the car. There is nothing there to bolt the chrome bumpers to.
The real question is, Why?!
