I need to replace bushings and remove rust issues on my frame and seal it. seems to be rust inside the channels flaking and loose. Quseion is I have located a frame locally that has been acid dipped and sealed. Am I better off moving and replacing all lnes, etc to new frame once Ilift the body off?? Frame is $2400.00
Thanks, Doug

Yes...either replace the lines(fuel/brakes), or swap them. Tha would be the perfect time to do it, as it is impossible to replace the main fuel line with the body on the frame, unless you want to cut/splice it.

Make SURE the replacement frame is the same year...there are some subtle differences in some of the years, even tho the frames are pretty much the same. The later, rubber bumper frames are totally different from the chrome bumper frames.

A replacment Frame might seem like the Bestway to go but have You thought about the Alignment Shims?  The Factory had a Gig Setup to determine the correct Frame - Body Mount Shims but do You? If Not it will be a Lot of Trial and Err untill You get the Doors Lined up again. Just something to keep in mind.... RIchard.

A little off topic question, has anyone seen/heard of the stripping process where they submerge body or frame in a tank of water and apply electrical current to it ?
I read about it once in a rod magazine.

P.s. this would not be for vette / fiberglass
