I am leaning more and more to do body off.Can you all jump in here and tell me whats got to be disconnected? My big concern is all the electric. No motor or trans in car,no exhaust systen either.I suppose leaving doors on will help stiffen body.No hood or radiator. How much does body weigh with NO interior? Gas cap door is off.Are the fuel lines at the tank a big deal? I know about the body to frame bolts. What am I missing? Thanks to all,Mikeee

body off is not that difficult,

-take the hood off
-all 8 bodymounts :)
-wiring , check all grounding cables , one under left front fender near the vapor cannister to frame , one on left rear bumper .
- disconnect lighting wiriring
wiring of your fuel-sendingunit on gastank, lines itself are no prob they are on the frame as the gastank, (not sure but i think best to take out the screws around your filllercap)
-radiator and heater hoses , transmission cooling lines on radiator
-steeringcolumn
-if taking out de doors you best make a support inbetween (doorhing and "lockknob)
brakelines to mastercylinder , , wire from your uhh.. brake switch(?) (nearby the steering gearbox where all brakelines are connected to (forgot how to call that)
-kickdowncable
- a vacuumline to your transmission
-wire to oilpressure-switch
-wire to temp sensor on engine
i probably forget a few things but i bet the others here will add those.
anyway.. just lift slowly and check in the beginning a fgew times if you find something still connected that should be disconnected :)))
best way to label everything you disconnect , makes it much easier to install back later on
good luck

I guess the body doesn't weigh all that much,I see photos of a few guys using engine hoists.I'm thinking of putting the car under my freinds backyard buddy lift, strap the body to it and raise the ramps, therby lifting the body, then roll frame out the door. Then lower back down the body onto my roll around dolly I made for another project.Dolly is 4x4angle iron with 24" uprights in each corner, then 4x4 angle iron from side to side one in front one in back. Also has 6" wheels in each corner.Great feature is no one has to bend down to work on a car.If I knew anything about these computers I'd post a photo of it.
