Ok...so call me an idiot.  I purchased a replacement mast antenna for my '82...and I cannot for the life of me figure out how the old one comes off!

I don't feel too bad though, by the look of the old one (which is why I was replacing it in the first place), it appears that the prior owner couldn't figure it out either.

Here's a pic of the current antenna...and a pic of the new antenna...

Does it come apart here...

or here...

or here?

And do I unscrew it or does it pull apart?  The new antenna doesn't have any threads...

Like I said....IDIOT...

Thanks!

The mast should slide right out of what's there...the nut that holds it on is gone...unfortunately, it looks like the rest of the thing is damaged also...
The mast is prolly rusted to the base, and that's why it won't come off. You may wind up just replacing the whole thing...

Thanks Adam,
I failed to mention that I had already removed the nut for the pics.

So...without the nut, it should just slide right, huh?  That makes sense.  You're probably right about it being rusted together.

That helps!  Thank you VERY much!
Jeff
