I need the gradient and the pin for Destiny. For those of you that don't know, she was hit a few weeks ago and is now recovering in the body shop of our local Chevy dealer. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! My email is: VetteVixen@corvettemail.com

Didn't you post this in the Corvette Forum too? Anyway, there are some companies that make aftemarket decals, but I don't know the quality. That is why mine still doesn't have the decals. Try www.phoenixgraphix.com you can buy individual pieces
there's always Ebay for NOS, if you like parting with big bucks!!! |blinkyeyes|

Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR #3016 of #6502 built. Has original Pace car decals still in GM boxes the way it was delivered to GM dealers. per NCRS "UPDATE" Decals applied as of 3/8/02 (ALL ORIGINAL)
Darla, Chris (aka) dukman forgot to mention his idea for restoration of his 82 CE. Last time we talked he was going to have his stripes airbrushed with the right NOS color and then have it clear coated over, which I think is a excellent idea if you have someone that knows how to do a good job. This may be a alternative for you in your situation. Also, as far as the decals go Ecklers http://www.ecklers.com sales the decals seperately if you are not needing a complete kit. Here is a run down of some prices.

Darla, I have the correct color code for the brown if you might want to go that route. It can also be used on the interior to touch up or repaint interior pieces. let me know

Thanks for info! Yep, I posted this in a "few" places! I figured that if I posted in enough places, someone might come up with ideas I haven't heard of. After all, some folks only frequent the forums they really like to hang out at, and may not go to the others, you know? :)

Now we're fighting over painting the whole car. I really don't like insurance companies very much at this point. It seems like I'm the one doing all the work here. lol Anyhow, do you guys have an opinion on the Eckler's stripe kits? Any of you have them or worked with them? They've been ordered, then while I've been gone the past week, I got an email from someone on the 82 Registry that said they're terrible. So, that's where I'm at. Not a good spot to be in I'm afraid. lol

Darla
I bought a 78 silver anniversary decal kit from Ecklers a few years ago for a vette a buddy of mine and myself was restoring. I had no problems . The glue and backing was made by 3M company. In your situation I would watch the color of the decals . Alot of aftermarket companies have a hard time matching the NOS color of your original car and if your planning to do it yourself a application kit would be money well spent. This would allow you to move the decals around before they completely attach themselves to the car.

Hi Doug and thanks for the info. Any help at this point is very good for me! One ? I do have is that they're (body shop) trying to tell me the paint is cracked under the hood stripe...the rest of her is fine. I've found that it's usually the stripe that goes, not the paint....any advise on this???

How do they know the paint is cracked under the stripe unless they took it off? I stioll think painting them on is a more viable alternative

My ? to them was the same. I figure it's the stripe, just because I've seen quite a few that have the exact same problem. That is one option yes, but I'd like to do the decals if possible.
Thanks!
