Does anyone what the trim color is that's around the windows and the rockers? I know it's black but I would like to match it to touch up. (I don't know why GM choose to paint the trim?)..

I think it was the trend back then, no chrome anything. Eastwood makes a black trim paint, i have used a black sharpie on small nicks.

Lol ebo, I have used a Sharpie in the past to get by temporarily.

@2tone82vette: You can also use Duplicolor Trim Paint p/n TP70. It dries in 30 mins., has a durable finish, dries to that same OEM satin black finish and it readily available at local auto parts stores.
I used it to refinish all my window trim, wiper arms, and various places under the hood.

Ebo,
A sharpie! Sounds like a great idea. I usually have a shapie on me if you ever need anything marked up!

Thanks guys, I sense an underlying joke about the Sharpie... Thank you Sarge! I will go to the auto parts store for the Dup!

Hi Kenton,
I was going to repaint my rear window trim this past summer.  I found that under the old paint there was a chrome trim.  I used steel wool and most of the paint came off slowly.  There is so little chrome on the 82.  The only other place is where the tops rest on the windshield and the cross-member and I have chrome tailpipe tips. I have yet to buy any paint.  Mine was a very flat black and had worn unevenly revealing the chrome trim. It may not be real chrome but, it is shinny and does not scratch with the steel wool.

Hi Keith,
Thank you, I love that look for the black! My black 82 was that way. This one I'm trying to keep completely stock since that is it's current state.

I believe the chrome is actually stainless steel. Which can shine up nicely.
Don't use steelwool though. It rusts.Ouch
I need to get a box of Sharpies for my A pillar. The paint is flaking off.
