i am at the point that i can attach the rubbers to the body but wondering about this one :

what is the idea of those " closed holes" on the rubber ... looks like it is made to put a (very short) screw form inside the body to hold the rubber on the body..or ... should i just glue the rubber on the body?
and for the t-top panels... should i just use the few screws and those white things to lock the rubber..or also put glue on it ??

The bottom hole is there for an aluminum rivet that holds it to the
fiberglass. If you have the rear quarter trim removed from the interior
you can see the hole that accepts the rivet. The remaining length is
held with 3M weatherstrip adhesive. The rivet is not really neccesary
unless you want it to remain original.

Isn't there suposed to be a stainless steel retainer there, also? I don't know about the later cars(78-up), but the earlier cars had a retainer that screwed to the body there, and then the w-strip fit into that, with the rivet at the bottom.
On the t-top w-strip, you do need to use some adhesive around the perimeter, as well as the plastic retainers and screws.

Sorry, don't know the year on your car but I just did this to my '80
and it had 3 rivets on each side. The two on the flat and one
where it bends down. They looked like factory rivets and judging
by the rot on the rubber and metal, I think it was the factory rubber.
I drilled them out from the inside after removing the panels and they were right there. Be sure to use the good 3M stuff to set it.
The front uprights appear to be 3 piece. The rubber, the retainer and the flat up against the car with screws penetrating thru all three pieces.
Take your time and don't get in a hurry. I used a standard Craftsman rivet gun and 1/4" rivets, but be sure to get ones that will match up to your holes.
