I ve finally gotten to the point where I can be somewhat functional again at work and home....
I went over to the warehouse and decided to look at how I could get the body off...
the ceilings are just too damn high..
so im still exploring options...
while I was there though.. I took off the upper window trim and window weatherstrip, etc.
the top six or so inches of the side windshield supports are rusted out.. the top bar is rusted out badly too..
the PO apparently was a jackass as he layed a thick layer of roofing patch, over a thick layer of silicone to seal the window... the window wouldnt come out without breaking.. the window frame is shot..
the news just keeps getting worse.
I wish idiots wouldnt try to fix things themselves.

I have frequently told people that the first thing I have to do is fix what they screwed up. Then I can fix the problem. Happens all the time. I support amatures learning to fix their cars. But there is nothing I can do about stupid.
Ben, if you are going to "sling" the car, a standard cherry picker type engine hoist should have the height you need, it worked on mine.
Another option, we all know the towing companies, hell they're drinking buddies of mine! Most of the newer trucks have a long enough and high enough boom. If everything is ready to pick, the truck shouldn't be tied up any longer than a regular call. Obviously, you'd want someone besides BUBBA at the controls.
I used the tow truck method to replace the engine in my 26' boat (twice)
