Well I am just about done with my front end and I have decided to take my body off and do the frame. The more I dig into this car the more I need to do. I saw a link awhile back about on what to do and a diagram for a box. I thought Adam posted something on this subject. Could somebody direct me in the right direction?

Hey guys thanks those two are the ones I remember seeing. I don't plan on using a body strap but 3 guys on each side to left this off. I saw it done in a restoration book. This weekend I will build the box. I do have one concern my car has had driver side fender work done form the looks of it. I hope the front does not break off.

I used the straps.  They are a bit tricky.  Taking the body off may not be to big of an issue.  Putting it back on is another issue.  It took a while to get everything cleared and lined up.  I put the body onto a complete driveline assembled frame.  Your frends better be ready to sweat.  I had to get mine over 3.5 ft off the ground for the frame assembly( with engine) to clear under.  The frame was only a few inches off the floor( not rolling on the wheels).

Good luck

hi all,
i am pulling the body off my 71 coupe this coming weekend.
i plan to use 6 guys to lift it off. a couple to watch for clearance.
i have no motor or tranny in the way, interior is stripped out. hood will be off, but i am leaving the doors on for rigidity.
i have no wiring on the car. brake lines are unhooked from master cyl.
all bumper brackets are removed.
i build a dollie for it to sit on.

should i be concerned about anything else?
OSSW1, how did you make out with lifting the body off? was it very heavy?
did the body "bend" during the lift?
thanks in advance for the help.
joe

No it work out fine. I also had the engine and tranny out so there was no problem. What I here the problem is putting it back on. Make sure you keep track of the shims.
