hello out there.I seem to be having a problem in my paint on my 80 vette. The problem is that, a bubble appeared in the paint(size of a quater)right above the light, and below the hood. When the car sits in the sun the bubble seems pretty soft to the touch, have any of you guys come across these paint bubbles, and how can I sort of fix it, short of the big ticket body shop fix.Any hints or tips PLEASE!!!!! .PS; the rest of the cars finish is great, just this one spot;and i,m sick about it.THANKS GUYS.

Based on your 'soft' description I would think that you have some impurities underneath coming through - oil or something like that indicating the body was not properly prepped before painting. Unfortunately I can't tell you how to go about fixing it. The other thing to be aware of (which may not apply since I'm not real familiar with the later sharks) is that the factory used rivets to hold on the nose. These corrode with time and cause penny size bumps to appear in the nose every few inches. If that's what your seeing (sounds like maybe the location) then the fix ain't purty. It requires grinding down the heads of the rivets and repairing them. But the good side is that if that's what it is, you know your car hasn't been hit hard in the nose since it's still got the original one. Good luck. ~Juliet

it could very possibly be the moisture. when the car was painted there was moisture in the airlines. This causes the paint to buble when it is humid out. I ahev a 58 that does that. I'm probably going to end just stripping it again--but in the mean time if you just keep it dry, put a dehumidifirer in your garage it should eliminate the problem in time.
