I agree...on both points.

Keep your Vette out of the automatic car wash and Griot's Garage has outstanding products.

I didn't put it there. This is from the previous owner.

There is a 3M product available from your local body shop supply house called "Finesse It". It is a very fine polishing compound, pretty expensive, but it'll get the job done. I use it with a 7" high speed buffer with a lambswool pad. Do one area at a time (half a hood, etc.) gently. Use a pretty fair amount of the stuff to prevent burning the finish. The stuff works so gently, there is little chance of burning thru the clear-coat.

If you have never used a wheel...don't start learning on your Vette. It is very easy to burn the finish. Then you have a bigger problem than you started with.

I was thinking more in line of a rubber block, pad, and elbow grease, I'm not to good with the buffer. Tried it, and........huh? ....whoops.  I have to stay away from anything dangerous.  Small area at a time.

Finesse-It will work by hand if you have a LOT of patience, which I have none of. If you run out of it, a random orbital buffer is a whole lot safer than the 7" wheel I mentioned...
