Earlier this year one of our members did a thread on his (very successful) front bumper replacement. Very impressive. Almost made it sound easy. I'm not real experienced at going through the archives so I hope some one who is will come along shortly. Hold tight bro, help is on the way.

Guy, it was Redwingvette that described a beautiful front bumper replace. If you'll look into the "community" drop down menu and choose "C3 forums", you can scroll down til you find "C3 body", back on page 4, I believe, about April, 07 you'll find his thread... I've got that job to do myself, good luck.

Thanks guys I wil check it out. When underneath last night Unhappy. Didin't really look that bad Tongue should have done it while the fuel tank and exhaust was outCry.  But it looks a lot easier than the front bumper. I will check out the forums, will let you know, thanks.

A buddy and i put a rear bumper cover on his '75 last year.  it went real easy and fit up great.  he has a lift so that helped out a lot! (easier on the back).  but we never took out the fuel tank or exhaust.  But I definitely suggest you have 2 sets of hands.

the only trouble spot is the old retaining clips.  after 30 odd years, they are usually rusted and the studs break off while removing the old cover.   he drilled out the old studs and spot welded in new (longer ones) and it worked like a charm.
i'm currently putting a new tru-flex bumper on the front of my car and i'm having  a H E L L of a time fitting it up. Angry
The rear end definitely goes easier!

Hmel '74

Did a front on 75 a few months ago they are hard especialy the to out side bolts. I had a hell of a time too. I read some where (can't remember)Stern%20Smile that you could remove the bumper honeycome (bumper support) and not even use it? This is because the Tureflex is so stiff. Don't know didn't try main thing (it will crackOuch) is to work it slow and keep bottom pushed in same as top. Good luck let me know how it goesThumbs%20Up. Thanks

Hey Guy,
i meant to get back sooner but i was busy trying to get my bumper on for the vette show.  i just wanted to let you know it came out really good.  it's not a "perfect" fit but it's as good as i'm going to get it myself.  i'm really pleased with it.  it's so nice to have that old cracked bumper off.  i feel like it's a new car!

I went with the fiberglass and ordered the new bolt up kit from Ecklers.  They are single bolt with 1/5"tab for each hole.  Makes install MUCH easier than the old solid strip.  You can get each segment aligned as you go.

My painter removed the honeycomb off my front as the glass is much stiffer than the vinyl.  Looks great.  Seams go away on a black car.

Good Luck!!!
