Finally joined, sorry it took so long!
I am wondering if anyone has or has seen a carbon fiber hood for a C3. I am going to need more hood clearance down the road but I have a pretty good paint job and don't like the idea of trying to match color on a primed bigblock hood. Carbon fiber might look good with my existing paint, but I can't come up with a source for C3 cf hood. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Matt,

Welcome to the Shark Tank glad you dove in. Carbon Fiber came on the scene heavily during the C5 era and that is about where it starts.
I haven't seen a CF hood for a C3 yet and took some time looking this morning for one to out of my own interest. I had no luck.
There are some good hi rise hoods in fiberglass that should do the trick for you. ACI makes a great looking L88 hood that should do the trick for you.

I check out their site and enjoy the registry!

Thanks Tuxblacray, your Vettes look great! I'm taking pictures of mine today so that all can see my survivor.

Heh Matt, please get somepictures up, and let me know what hood you end up with. I was debating changing the hood on my red project car as the air cleaner is showing a rub spot on the hood and it does not latch.

I've never seen coarbon fiber for a C3 either. I bought my L88 hood from Tracyvette. Really great quality and extra clearance with a mean big block look!! Thumbs%20Up

I've never seen a carbon fiber hood for a C3 either.  I also needed some more underhood clearance so I picked up the L-88 hood from Ecklers.  It seriously fit better than my stock hood!  I think the stinger hood looks pretty sweet too!
