Sorry for all the questions just trying to get the vette back together since starting on a painting journey dec 2013????

the chrome t-top trim molding which is to have a small thin trim strip in front of it against the windshield best way to install.

I ordered clips to install on the chrome trim molding with screws enclosed but do not see any existing holes???? I do not believe I'm to drill new holes but then how other then 3M adhesive do I install it.

The thin black strip has for nubs  2 each side to fit in the front groove of the chrome molding but there it ends. A picture shows the clips screwed into the front of the chrome trim?

When I took it off many months ago there were a few clips but none were screwed in....Just a ton of black 3M adhesive.  I can do that but has anyone done this recently and how did it go??

If anyone can pass on the how to I would appreciate it.
I have enclosed a couple of pics but probably not the best?

Those trim clips fit onto studs welded to the windshield frame. No screws. I'll see if I can find a good pic later after I get home. Thumbs Up

The studs your talking about I think I saw those when I had both moldings off getting the old adhesive removed.  But only see two on either side and out towards the ends!
I got the clips in the corvette catalog not to mention the name but will contact them but clips and screws included.  The strip clips in either end but the middle part where no clips I will have to do something as it wants to move up and away from the chrome piece and the windshield?
As I said it looked like the black 3M glue was used before. I really don't want to try and drill holes in the front and with the glass there?

So I will wait for some replys and look at it again but it looks like some 3M across the middle but will have to have some pressure on it until it drys or it will bow out!

I know you don't want mixed posts but now with all the door opening I think the battery is shot!
I get the clicking noise and maybe a half crank but that is it. I had a battery tender on but last time I had to jump it. It started but took a while. I let her run but could not get her out on the road for a good run so I guess it really did not charge.  But now even with a jump it will not crank over?????

I know I was fulling with fuses on the fuse box but checked the wires. I know in the past I had to reconnect the I believe IGN wire that's in the center of the box..I'm wondering if it is not the battery and I moved something.  Battery show 10 _10.5 I would think that would crank. but the amp meter when cranking or prior only shows around 8.

Ok I guess no fathers day ride this year...

Thanks BB78

Has the battery tender light turned green?  It might take a day and a half to charge up my battery from "almost dead".  If the battery is older time to bite the bullet.  Walmart & Home Depot carry a high rated battery.

Not the best pic, but this is one of the studs. There should be more than two across the top. It's possible some of yours have broken off. If that is the case, you can use screws to hold the clips in, but you will need to locate where the broken ones were, and drill right next to that to install the trim clips.

Also....no glue was used to hold the trim on. Any black adhesive you see is for sealing the windshield to the frame. At least originally. If the posts to hold the clips were broken, someone may have tried to glue the trim down before, but that's not how it should be done, unless your name am Bubba....LOL

That looks like the side verticle molding not the top of the window in the center with the chrome piece, either that or I'm not getting a clear picture. Thanks I will look and check with your picture again. Thanks BB 78
