Originally they were painted the color of the body....
The choice is yours....lol
BUT if my car was originally a Mary Kay car and had pink pillar posts
you can bet your a$$ I would paint them to match the new color...
no matter how much trouble it was...
thanks.. decision made.. body color...
Before you make your final decision. When I took my all original car apart the outside of the pillar was very sparsely painted the body color and the inside of the pillar where the Vin Tag is located was a dark gray almost black primer. There was no body color to be found on the inside of the pillar. I agree regarding the outside adjacent to the door jamb.
Now I will say that my interior is black and that may have a bearing on things but I do not think so. I have seen a number of C3s torn down and the side of the pillar inside the passenger compartment is just some type of dark primer GM used.
If you are interested in being factory correct double check with NCRS. If you are not a member I am and would be happy to check for you.
I'll wait then.. thanks Bill
By the way, you ride is gorgeous. I had a good freind that had the same car in bridgehampton blue and that is when I decided that the GTO had to be replaced by a vette.
I have to admit the GTO did sound pretty good though with the RAII motor. Still not a vette!
