A few years back I was going to attempt to install my convertible top myself. At that time there was a lot of discussion about a video that would walk you thru the steps to do an install. Many suggested the Al Knock video. I bought one and have watched it a few times. I would describe it as a good tool if you are going to tackle an install yourself. I have no need for this so if anyone is ever looking for one let me know. I would be happy to pass it on. I cant say that they did a high resolution CD but it shows what you need to know to make the decision on attempting to do one on your own or sending it to a pro. Oh, yes I sent it to a pro! lol

You didn't want to use the heat gun?
You made a wise choice on paying a professional to do the installation!

Yea I did make the right decision, however there may be someone much more talented then I am that wants to tackle such a job and I was thinking I would pass it on to them. Thats the least I can do for a fellow member in the group after all the group has done for me!

I did mine last yr by watching that video..saved myself $1000.00 & it turned out great. You will need a very good heat gun & a good stapler.

I would be interested in any advice and the video if it is still available. Are you still happy with the top? I done one on a Triumph Spitfire a few years ago. turned out good except I stretched it to tight. I understand the top for my 69 is more work but I am wanting to do it all myself.

My advice, except for the video, don't buy from Al Knock.

Did 2 on my 72, going to put a 3rd one on soon after the paint job. Nothing to it. Took me an afternoon. The very first top I had a shop put it on. Cost me $300 and they left the interior full of trash and staples. Next time I needed on another shop said "well the only good a convertible top is good for is to keep most of the rain off until you get to the garage.Installed my first one, installed new weather stripping, adjusted the windows and sprayed it with the hose on full stream and did not leak!
