had a problem with the passenger door. it wouldn't open. jerked up on the locking linkage and it opened and i replaced the lock with a used one. as i wanted to use the car i didn't hook up the o/s handle and just reached in and used the inside handle.after a couple months we went to a car show and when we were going to leave the door wouldn't open again. tried everything and still couldn't get it.

took it down to the body shop and there were three of us trying everything to open it and the conclusion was to bust the lock out so that what i did yesterday. what i think was the problem that whoever did it put too many washers behind the striker bolt and the door was actually caught on the striker and not in the lock.

good thing i saved the old lock and will try reinstalling that one and taking out a couple of the washers. really was a PITA not being able to open the door. wife is now happy as i don't have to strap her down on the luggage rack anymore.
