Vette(s): Little on the rough side right now, with new paint and new interior it will be looking fine!
Hi!  So on my 75 vette my outside passenger door handle doesn't work at all, and my driver side door latch doesn't hold the door in place.  I have been able to completely take out the driverside door latch assemble, clean it and put it back in, the door now shuts better than before but still can be jiggled while shut.  I tried to do the same on the passenger side, but there is a plastic rain shield that is in the way that i can't figure out how to get out of there.  Do i have to remove the window to get access?

As for the windows, i have no idea where to start with them.  Both motors work surprisingly, but are very slow and sluggish, also the windows themselves can be moved a few inches back and forth.  I know I probably need new tracks among other things for these but i don't know what i'm missing or where to get it!

Any help on this will be awesome!

I hope to one day be as knowledgeable as most the guys on here... but till then I'll have to just keep asking the questions with the obvious answers....

Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.
For parts; Mid America Motorworks has a great selection of window/door parts and an excellent photo illustration of the interior of a door for parts placement. Other suppliers include Bairs Corvettes, Corvette America, and Volunteer Vette Products all great vendors.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary L82 4spd (M21) Red Leather. Pace Car is in the hands of a new caretaker.
I had really slow power windows so I took off the door panel and lubed up every moving part i could get at in there. Made a world of difference. Worth trying and cheaper than motors if that's all it needs.
There's 2 fuzzy pads at the top of the door inside that the inside surface of the window slides against. These wear out and are easy to replace. I've had so-so luck with them trying to get the sloop out of the window. Push them too tight against the glass and the window is out away from the weather stripping when closed.
I'm not sure about the handles, but someone else here will know.
Welcome to C3VR. A great group to be a part of.

Thanks for the help, i just finished figuring out how to get that rain gaurd out and have cleaned and lubed up the door assembly and reinstalled it!  Both handles now work! (very pleased with myself)  and I'm fairly sure that i am missing alot of parts to the widows cause i'm missing alot of parts in general on the interior!  thanks again for the warm welcome!
