When you order the handles, dont forget to get new rubber gaskets for them also.

and be sure to get the door handles made in US. They are pricier but I have heard the Foreign ones are crap. This is not the job you want to do twice ...

If you have the patience, the spring can be replaced on your original, GM installed handle. It requires removing the handle, of course, and then dis-assembling the flapper from the rest of the handle. The spring wraps around a pin, which in turn holds the flapper to the handle. The pin has small crimps on both ends to hold it in, but they can be filed down to allow the pin to be removed. The spring is installed so as to hold the flapper in the "Up" position. When the spring breaks on either(or both) ends, you get a limp flapper.
I've replaced quite a few of the springs...I'm gettin purty gud at it!
Then again, the easiest solution is to get the cheesy "butterfly" springs that install in about 10 seconds from the outside.
If you do decide to get new handles, either now, or down the road, absolutely get the US-made handles. Cost more, yeah, but...the foreign-made handles are CRAP.
I stole yer pic, Ray...

Anthony,
For comparison here is Mid America's door handle selection and prices. They are one of the Registry sponsers and if you have problems with the item they will work with you to correct the situation.
Likewise as Joel mentioned there are exterior springs that can be utilized with your present handles that "might" do the trick. They look like this.
Whichever way you go at least you have some information to help you decide. Good Luck! Tux...

Thanks for the info, guys! I'll likely just go with the 10 second fix first, and move to the more difficult fix if/when needed.
Mid America is a sponsor of ours? That's great. When I restored my C4, I bought most of my parts from them. They've always been a big help and have always answered any questions I may have had. If I end up buying new handles, I'll definitely order from them!

Before I left I told the shop to fix the drivers door handle as it was "sagging".
We went over the steps and that included taking the bolts out from the bottom and fixing it right.
Sounded like that would be about 2 hours to fix.
(I wanted them to look at the power window also as it was a little slow going up. Made sense to fix whatever we needed at the same time).
