Hi Jeff, glad to see you are still working on the 82. I missed you at the Stanley cruise-ins this Summer, perhaps you can make it this coming season. I have replaced my inner window seals but not my outer so I'm not much help in that respect. Chip
Too many little things to fix and other things going on. About to get it done hopefully so I should be able to make it in the spring.
I have tried squeezing as hard as I could and this didn't work. Tried hitting a dead-blow hammer on the end and still will not pop in. There has got to be a secret to getting these in.

In searching I did find this article at Corvette Magazine in their tech articles but they say it should "snap in".. apparently that isnt correct in your case. Here is the article anyway if you care to look at it.http://www.corvettemagazine.com/body/the-outside-seal.html

These are truly a PITA to snap in on the door. Did mine and a friends from the local car club over the past few years.
We unbolted the window and removed it (easy - 2 nuts at the bottom of the window with it rolled all the way up) and took out the seal and the chrome bead as a unit.
Snapped them together on the bench and then put them back un the door as a unit.
Once we figured out one side, the other went very quickly.

Good luck!
