Topic: Door WIndows
in Forum: C3 Body
When they repainted the car they, of course, pulled the glass out of the doors. It's now out of adjustment/alignment and I have no idea WTF I'm doing and what to loosen and tighten to move which direction.
Anyone ever done this?

I hate winder adjustments!!! There is, however, a decent article in the Jan. Corvette Fever on adjusting them. Other than that, the factory assy. manual has adjustment procedures, as well as the service manual. (The easiest way is to take it back to the body shop, and make them do it!!)

Oh, you guys are not making me feel optimistic about my project this weekend (adjusting the driver door window)!!! THe good news is my AIM manual arrived today, waiting on the others....

Here's a post written by Mark Anderson (aka MARK72LS5) a long time ago about overhauling door mechanisms and adjusting windows. Seems the AIM for your year has the best instructions on adjusting the windows.
(btw - Mark is a former member having traded his '72BB coupe for a C4 so don't look for a response now from him in the site)

Once you find the adjustmets, it is a bit of trial and error, but not bad. The only caution is to shut the door very gently when checking alignment. You might have the glass way out of whack, hit the body, break the glass, and damage the paint.
But it's very easy to just be careful closing the door, and there is now worries. After that, you will find the second door is much easier.
I agree with Ken. I replaced the driver door glass in my 69 a couple of weeks ago. The previous owner had chipped the glass, probably slammed the door without it being properly adjusted. The hardest part was getting the door panel off and back on. It's a two beer project.

Ken is right...be careful closing the door, until the adj. is right(or as close as you can get it!). This is one of them jobs that you just have to take your time with, and have patience.
