Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Get someone to lift up and down on the end of the door with it open about 1/2 way, and watch the piller. Does it move? If so is the fiber glass cracked? Cracked or not, if it does move there is likely a rusted support in the piller under the glass. Big repair. Take it to a trusted body shop for a look see.
If the piller does not move, perhaps the bolts are slipping, or the hinges have a lot of wear. (we hope)

Ken is right, it is a big repair if the pillar is moving. That means the rocker channels have rusted out. I did mine myself, it's not all that tough if you are a good welder. You may need to fabricate certain parts as well, like the seat belt reinforcements that are welded to the rocker channels. You will need to pull the body, and don't attempt to use one of those lift kits that hook under the rocker channels. You could cause some major damage. Do a search for "redwingvette" Brian has a web site and shows the entire process from beginning to end. I think Brian did his in just 2 weeks including some major detailing and frame painting while it was apart. The entire job can be done without cutting fiberglass if the pillars are not rusted out too badly.

Edit: Here is Brian's web site, good luck!: http://hometown.aol.com/bmclau5079/index.html
