LOUVERS IN THE FENDER VENTS - BETTER DESCRIPTION? THE EARLIER VERSIONS OF THESE - I THINK IN 68 OR 69 WERE REFERRED TO AS "EGG CRATES".

Louvers are usually refered to as vent in the top of the fenders above the wheels. Aftermarket only. Look at Stingray Jim's car, and LakotasRose's Rosie.
Egg Crates are in the notch/air vent behind the wheels on the side of the front fenders.
They will only fit a few years without modification to the fender. That can be done if you work with fiberglass.
I love the egg crates, but they won't fit my 75. Who knows, maybe some day. That's way down the road.

On the '68/'69 models they were nick-named 'gills' (like on a real live shark). As noted above the 'egg crates' were on the '70/'71/'72 models. After that they were just holes in the side of the car...!!!

Just like thses

NICE
Now if someone is good at designing and wants to make a product that all of the parts suppliers will gobble up, A version of these babies to fit the "empty holes in the side of the car" could make someone a small fortune!!!
Or maybe it's just me!!
