Just Somthing I thought I should pass on. After replacing my emblems several years in a row from the paint peeling and fading I decided to spray them with several coats of a clear gloss. After several months of rain, shine and highway speeds they still look brand new.

Good tip. I wish I had thought of it. I still have a few of the old ones laying around that I have spruced up to use on the mail box. A good coat of clear should help them last a little longer.

I used a Dupli-Color Scratch & Fix touch up paints:

HA 00955 Milano Red - (Honda),   Universal Black,   GM 433 Bright White

I took an NOS emblem that I have to the local parts store to match the red, it's really close if not right on.

I drop the paint in with the brush and use a toothpick to move it around until it fills the desired area.  After it is dry, I use a razor to scrape off any areas that I don't want the paint, such as the Chevy Bowtie on the flag.

A couple of days after it dried, I tried to brush on the clear, but it made the color run.  It's such an easy fix that I just repaint any chips.

I'll keep doing this until I get a repaint, then I'll use the new emblems.

Anthony
