Vette(s): 1972 Targa Blue, T-Top, Saddle leather, 350 auto, numbers match, all original except '69 factory side exhaust. Previously owned: 1969 427, 390hp, 4sp, Riverside Gold coupe, factory side exhaust

The build sheet, that is.

We could see it by using a mirror and a light.  We didn’t have to drop the tank all the way down.  Just enough the reach in and pull it out.  Fortunately it wasn’t stuck very tight, kind of crumpled up.  It was very brittle and we did tear the lower left corner, but no harm.  It is in very good condition as you can read all the letters and numbers.

It does appear that someone has written the number 109 and below it a P1 in ink or grease pencil.  Anyone have an idea of what that would mean?  Also, where is zone 11 and who is dealer 071?  Since taking these pictures, I have laminated it.

I have taken a few more pictures in the link below.  The new fender is ready to be installed and all of the metal trim pieces are ready for paint.  Still have to work on all the seams.  Progress seems slow as Gordy is working on two other Vetts.

Congratz!!!Clap
The 102 is prolly the "job number". I have no idear what the P1 might be.
Zones, and dealer numbers changed quite a few times over the years, but there is a database at NCRS that may have those numbers...I'm looking at it now. If I find them, I re-post.
Feels good to find it(the build sheet), don't it?

No Longer in business, but this info was accurate from at least 1966 to at least 1971.

I just looked at the sheet...notice at the bottom where it says "Trim and color over-ride"!?!? The top says Targa Blue...what color is the interior? Blue and blk were the "recommended" colors. Anything else would have had to be a special order, and then it would have to be "approved" for production. That makes the car a little bit "special". KEWL! Star

Thanks for the info Joel.Thumbs Up  It makes sense that it was originaly sold in Oak Brook, IL.  I bought it in Belvidere, IL (Just West of Chicago) in 1973.Wink

I also noticed the "Trim and color over ride".  The interior is 421 Saddle Leather.  The suggested int. colors for Targa Blue were black or blue.  I guess that does make it special.Smile

Thanks for the positive comments, guys.  I am pretty excited!!

Joel.....I forgot to mention that Gordy (the guy painting it) is a member of NCRS and he is going to try and get as much info as he can about the car.  Thanks for your input.Wink
