I was taking the heater control out of the console on my '69. I found out why one of fiber optic tail light indicators doesn't work. The cable was pinched about 1/4" inch from the brass end. I don't think I can use the repair kit, it's the left most one that has to bend and I think it's too close to the end. I thought maybe I could cut it off and put a new end on, but I can't find anyone who has an end, any ideas?
Thanks,
Matt

I was thinking that too, I'm not sure how those are attached to the cable.

Check with Paragon or Ecklers for the repair kit or find a good used end and use the repair kit to splice.
I do not have a spare harness or I would send you the piece you need. Maybe someone else on the forum has a canabalized harness with the end you need intact. Have them leave you a few inches to work with.
Good Luck

Go to this website and get the phone number http://www.stoudtcorvettes.com/. This is where I got my end connectors. They have many used parts also.

I installed a rear harness in my car when I was redoing it. What amazed me was the fact that the harness came with the FO but did not have the end connectors on it. These little $.10 pieces of brass should have been installed on the harness IMO. They have every other connector on there. I had no idea they were not installed and had to improvise for the time being. I will order the connectors.
OK fixed it, kind of...I cut off the connector (right behind it). Then I took the smallest drill bit I had and drilled out the fiber optic cable. I reamed out the connector a little, the pressed it back on the cable. It's not a bright as the other side, in fact it's hard to see with just the lights on, but when you put on the brakes it's brighter. Not perfect, but better.
Thanks for all the good advice,
Matt
