well after over a year of being stumped on how to do it i finally got the passenger door on the 75 opened. was out with it one day and for some reason locked the door. went to show someone the car and the door wouldn't open. i had already replaced door panel and did not want to cut it open and ruin it but could figure how to open it.

i saw on the drivers door how the linkage worked as the plastic shield was not in it and on the passenger door it was. trying to pop the linkage up, i couldn't get anything in there with leverage to do it.

wise man said one time that you have to learn to adapt and overcome. was going to use a sawsall to cut the plastic but figured i would cut something i shouldn't so had to come up with a new plan. as seen on tv, i went in and got a ginsu knife and i cut 2 slits in it so i could get the plastic back and be over the linkage. (what a great commercial this would have been). bought a piece of 1/8th inch steel rod and got the linkage in the door disconnected and bent a hoo on the rod and got it in the tab.

tried pulling up but wouldn't budge. now what. hair on top is thinning out too much to pull anymore out so i figured what the heck and just yanked up using all the strength i could. presto, i heard a click and then the door opened. first thing i did was take off door panel.

this must have happened to the po as when i took the lock out it was spread apart like it was forced plus the rod that goes from the inside handle to lock was bent.

in the process of putting in a used lock i got and then will be mounting in the c4 seats i bought for it.
