they had it around a month and they called me this morning and told me it was done..
I originally was going to coat the whole thing with por-15..
I now am thinking that is too much overkill..
im thinking a good priming and painting should do fine.
daveb12... what kind of primer and paint did you suggest I use ?
im working on the pictures right now.

I used a self etching primer and finished with 2 coats of urethane with a flex agent. The flex guards against stone chips. You could go a bit less expensive and use a decent grade of enamel too. The car will probably never see rain again and anything you put on it is better than the factory did. On the low end, you could even use Rustoleum and have a decent looking job, mix the flat and gloss to get what you 're looking for, thin it with mineral spirits so it will shoot and it really looks good! I've done that on frames with good results. In lieu of etching primer, you could also use a primer with Zinc and be ok.
Most paint suppliers will have a "recipe" for the right color. Some call it Rally Black. I went with a bit more sheen than a purist would have used, I just like shiny paint.
I hung my frame from a side rail so I could paint top and bottom at the same time. Picked it up with an engine hoist.

Industrial primer should do the trick too. The etching primer bonds to bare metal better better than conventional primers, it has an acid content.
Like I said, the car will be babied from now on, so exposure is no longer an issue, if the industrial primer has some zinc in it and you can get a good price, just go for it!
Looking forward to pictures!

That's correct, it's a less expensive alternative, as long as your prep is thorough (and with you, I'm sure it will be)the zinc will help protect it. Etching primers do what the name implies, giving a better bond. If you go with the etching type, be sure to follow instructions, it's possible to put it on too thick.
Some middle ground here, the etching primer is also available in spray cans, use it for spot treatment (rust pitted areas) and the less expensive on the rest of the frame.

ill probably just use the zinc.. the frame doesnt have any rust pitted areas left.. the rust in the photos is from it sitting in the rain a few days while it waited for the frame shop to take it. it wipes off with a rag..
thanks for the advice.. paint and body is my weak point
do you have any preference for bushing lube.. im going to poly all around and want to know the best lube.
got a favorite anti-seize ? im going to make sure my trialing arm bolts and such dont freeze up either.
